Evansville Bassmasters
Ohio River - (Birdsville)
1-2 June 0515 - 1530
Friday evening as I sat and watched the television and all of the devastation that was happening in Oklahoma the Weather Channel said that the storms headed for us were in Saint Louis and had spawned tornados. For the first time since I started fishing I was having second thoughts about fishing. I called my partner to see what his thoughts were and he was already in a hotel in Paducah Kentucky also watching the weather. I think I would not have fished on Saturday if my partner had not already been down there. So….. I put my big girl pants on, set the alarm for 2:00am and went to bed.
As dawn began to appear Saturday morning, I pulled into the meeting area at the boat ramp to heavy rain and lightning. I'm apprehensive about the prospects of the day: Thunderstorms with rain all day and moderate winds. The Tournament director delayed the launch of the boats about 45 minutes and I waited at least another 30 before I launched. I finally get my boat on the water and make the best out of an undesirable day.
